Pakistan take seventh spot

LAHORE: Pakistan finished seventh in the 22nd Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship after beating Bahrain 3-1 in their seventh-position match in Urmia, Iran on Saturday.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, Pakistan defeated Bahrain 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 25-18).

Teams from 18 countries took part in the 22nd edition of the continental championship played from Aug 19 to 26.

3 terrorists killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa engagements: ISPR

Three terrorists were killed in two separate engagements with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber and South Waziristan districts, the military’s media wing said on Saturday. A statement from the Inter Services Public Relations issued today said that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in Khyber’s general area of Bara. “During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged” the location of the terrorists and eliminated two, Haqyar Afridi alias Khyberay and Gulla Jan. Pakistan strikes TTP camps in Afghanistan

PESHAWAR: Pakistani fighter jets bombed four locations, said to be camps of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in Afghanistan’s eastern Pak­tika province, killing and wounding several suspec­ted terrorists, security officials said on Tuesday night. Sources said that TTP camps in the Murgha and Laman areas of Bernal district were targeted, including one that was used by Sher Zaman alias Mukhlis Yar, Commander Abu Hamza, Commander Akhtar Muhammad and the head of TTP’s media arm, Umar Media. In a post on X by the Afghan defence ministry, the Afghan Taliban regime confirmed reports of the strike carried out by Pakis­tani forces, but claimed that the dead and injured included a number of children and other civilians.
